In the late 1980s, Dan Dykgraaf (a land developer) and Gary Genzink (a real estate broker) joined forces to identify and pursue development of a real estate/property management business in the greater Holland Michigan area. The partners began developing contacts and purchasing property, all the while remaining in their already-established positions.

The early 1990s saw the purchase and establishment of their first full-time office in Holland, Michigan. In late 2007, the offices consolidated to the downtown Grand Rapids location (opened in 2005), allowing Space Source access to the metropolitan area. The contacts and partnerships established by Space Source create an excellent network for buying, developing, managing, and/or selling property..

In the ensuing years, the original partners have remained active in the business and are central members of every transaction made by the company. Additional partners have become involved in individual commercial real estate/property management ventures Space Source has purchased or overseen. The company has purchased, renovated, built, managed and/or sold over 275 properties in several states, as well as internationally, and remains open to individuals who are interested in investing in commercial property transactions.
